We may receive information directly from you or from:

  • LinkedIn and professional networking platforms

  • company websites and other public professional sources

  • recruitment databases and resume libraries

  • referrals and recommendations

  • clients and professional contacts

Many of the people we approach are not actively looking for a new role.

If we obtain your information from another source, we will provide relevant privacy information when we first contact you, or otherwise within one month where required by law.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • identify and contact people about relevant opportunities

4. Why we use your information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using personal information.

For much of our recruitment activity, we rely on legitimate interests — operating a recruitment business, identifying people who may be suitable for opportunities and helping clients find experienced people.

We consider whether the processing is necessary and its potential impact on you.

Where appropriate, we may also rely on:

  • consent

  • taking steps before entering into a contract

  • performing a contract

  • complying with a legal obligation

5. Who we share information with

Where appropriate, we may share information with:

  • clients involved in a recruitment process

  • technology and service providers supporting our business

  • CRM, email, hosting and data-storage providers

  • professional advisers

  • regulators, authorities or courts where required by law

We only share information where there is a legitimate reason to do so.

6. International recruitment

Verde is based in the UK but works internationally, particularly in the United States and Canada.

Personal information may therefore be transferred outside the UK.

Where required, we use appropriate legal safeguards. For US transfers this may include the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or approved contractual safeguards such as the UK IDTA or UK Addendum.

You can contact info@vprec.com for more information about safeguards used for a particular transfer.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information only while there is a reasonable recruitment, business, legal or regulatory reason to do so.

We consider:

  • our relationship with you

  • whether the information remains relevant

  • whether it is accurate and current

  • the nature of the information

  • legal or contractual requirements

We periodically review the information we hold and may update or delete information no longer required.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • access information we hold about you

  • correct inaccurate information

  • ask us to delete information

  • restrict or object to certain processing

  • receive certain information in a portable format

  • withdraw consent where we rely on it

You can object to direct marketing at any time.

If you do not want Verde to contact you about recruitment opportunities, tell us and we will update our records.

To exercise your rights, email info@vprec.com.

You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

9. Marketing

We may occasionally contact professional contacts about relevant opportunities, Verde services or market information.

Where consent is required, we will obtain it.

You can unsubscribe or ask us to stop marketing communications at any time.

10. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics.

Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, you will be given the opportunity to accept or reject them through our cookie settings.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss or disclosure.

No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take appropriate steps to protect the information we hold.
